"Que bueno sería que las deudas que tiene Bolivia sean condonadas por una cuestión de cooperación", insistió Morales al reconocer que algunas deudas contraídas por su país con el Banco Mundial (BM) y el Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI) "son impagables".
Recordó que estos organismos otorgaron créditos bajo condiciones por lo que indicó que éstos no sólo deben condonar la deuda a su país, sino resarcir los daños que hicieron al imponer sus recetas.
Al margen de ello, Morales dijo también que hay deudas contraídas entre gobiernos de forma bilateral con fines sociales que tienen que ser pagadas.
Dio cuenta que el Gobierno de España condonó una deuda a su país bajo la condición de que destine mayores recursos a salud y educación.
"Saludamos esta clase de iniciativas aunque con España Bolivia tiene otro tratamiento", dijo.
De la misma forma, Morales saludó al Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID) por condonar una deuda a Bolivia, que dijo permitirá reducir el déficit fiscal sin acudir a recetas extranjeras o a prestarse dinero como hacían anteriores gobiernos.
